British IT solutions provider Ergo Computing UK Ltd is celebrating today after scooping a lucrative place on the country’s biggest IT procurement framework.
The Commoditised IT Hardware and Software Framework Agreement, operated and managed by Buying Solutions, covers the procurement of IT equipment for all UK public sector organisations.
With 3 Lots up for grabs – covering Desktop Hardware, IT Infrastructure Hardware and Specialist Channel Partners for Software – Ergo beat off stiff competition to capture a place on Lots 1 and 2. Through Buying Solutions, Ergo will be offering their wide range of UK-assembled customised IT furniture (SecureDesks), Desktops and Laptops in addition to supplying their innovative infrastructure hardware and services including virtualisation, storage and managed wireless.
Along with around a dozen other businesses in each Lot, the framework agreement award will give the Nottingham-based IT solutions provider the chance to distribute their wide range of products and services to any public sector organisation - from local authorities to central Government departments.
Neil Bellamy, Director of Ergo Computing UK Ltd said: “As a UK SME allocated a place on Lots 1 and 2, this is a great win not only for the employees of Ergo Computing but for the wider industry, as it demonstrates that smaller British businesses can compete – and win. We are a total solutions provider, with the unique capability of design, manufacturing and service delivery. Ergo’s inclusion for infrastructure means that we can now further expand our service delivery into the UK public sector, working across an organisation’s entire IT estate – from data centre to device.
“Despite the obvious importance of this significant contract win, our future growth - like our growth to date - is only assured by the quality of the products we design and manufacture in Nottingham and the ongoing support we provide.”
Chris Cliffe, Senior Project Manager, Buying Solutions said: “Buying Solutions welcomes the inclusion of SMEs onto this framework agreement; it is encouraging to see that such companies can compete and be successful in highly competitive trading conditions. We look forward to working with all our suppliers to deliver cost effective IT procurement solutions to customers across government and the UK public sector.”
Success with the Buying Solutions tender adds to Ergo’s growing portfolio of national framework contracts. Other notable national frameworks that this leading UK SME has won include the National Desktop & Notebook Agreement covering Colleges & Universities, and the ICT Infrastructure Services framework run by BECTA - the Government agency leading the national drive to ensure the effective and innovative use of technology in education.
