Rather than just supplying generic client devices, Ergo works with you on a consultative basis right from the outset. This makes sure you not only get the technology that’s right for your specific needs - but critically the right level of service and support.
In addition to custom building high performance hardware based on your school's individual requirements, we also offer an all-encompassing bespoke marketing package to help sell the concept to parents.
What do we look after?
The answer is as much or as little as you like. We can do everything from marketing to repairs - working with your internal team, acting as an extension rather than a replacement to your best assets....your staff.
Some features of your student laptop scheme:
- Repairs:- On-site or 24 hour turnaround on return back to base repairs. We have trained many of our schools to become authorised repair centres so they can become more self reliant and provide even higher levels of service. This training is free and does not invalidate any machine warranties...we are the manufacturer!!
- Support - Ergo's UK based support desk is non automated so you can speak directly to our technical team (most of our Technical Team are MCSE qualified or equivalent). Telephone support for our laptop scheme customers is unlimited. We also have a team of field based engineers available to support the school.
- Imaging - we can provide a full imaging service so that all machines purchased via the scheme arrive ready to connect to the school network and have the necessary software. This facility is also available to customers operating under a Microsoft Schools Agreement.
- Marketing - in conjunction with the school, we will produce brochures to send to parents and attend parents evenings (with stand and demo machines) to help market the scheme. Ordering of laptops can also be provided via a bespoke, secure web portal tailored to the schools corporate 'look & feel'. We can also provide laptops and carry cases with customised screenbacks/logo's (demo units can be shown).
- Asset Tracking - all machines that leave the Ergo building can be named and serialised for individual pupils to simplify asset tracking. We can also provide a software solution locally for the school that enables a laptop serial number to be scanned and tracked throughout support and repair processes.
- Insurance & Warranty - Our laptops are supplied with 3 years on-site warranty as standard. This is backed up by comprehensive accidental damage and theft insurance policies. There are no hidden clauses, the insurance is designed specifically for these schemes. Laptops are often swapped out on a next day repair or agreed replacement service levels.
- Training - in conjunction with one of our partner schools, we have devised a range of training courses for key groups such as teachers, senior managers, IT Staff, etc that cover key aspects of running a successful scheme. These courses can be made available to the school and held on/off-site.
Ergo can take care of the administration, meaning that once the scheme’s up and running - there’s little or no burden on your internal support staff.
A student laptop scheme is not simply about providing a device. There are a whole set of considerations to ensure that the ultimate aim of 1:1 access can be achieved - for instance, can your infrastructure support 1000 concurrent devices on the network? Is your wireless network up to scratch? What is the warranty and maintenance process?
