Microsoft Vista FAQs
When will Vista be available?
The business versions will be available in November 2006. All other versions will follow in January 2007.
Will my Ergo laptop or desktop PC run Microsoft Vista?
Because Microsft Vista is scalable, it will run differing features on machines with different specifications. The minimum requirements for running the core features of Vista are:
- 800 MHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
- 512 MB of system memory
- A graphics processor that is DirectX 9 capable
- SVGA display
- 20GB hard disk drive (12GB free space)
- CD-ROM drive
Remember, however, that these minimal specifications will not deliver all the features of Vista.
All current and future Ergo products can be configured at the time of build to achieve or exceed these minimum specifications.
What will I need to run the Premium or Ultimate versions of Vista?
To run Vista Premium or Ultimate you'll need at least the following specifications:
- 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
- 1 GB of system memory
- A graphics processor that runs Windows Aero
- 128 MB of graphics memory
- 40 GB of hard drive capacity with 15 GB free space
- DVD-ROM drive
- Audio output capability
- Internet access capability
What versions of Vista will there be?
There will be five versions:
- Windows Vista Business:

For home PC users who just want to perform the majority of online tasks, such as writing e-mails, surfing the web, delivering entertainment, and tracking household finances. Windows Vista Home Basic is designed to deliver improved reliability, security, and usability. - Windows Vista Home Premium:
This version is for people who wish to implement more features of the Vista operating susytem, including its Aero graphic user interface. - Windows Vista Ultimate:
