There is now no reason why learning should stop at the classroom door or
the school entrance. Microsoft® Learning Gateway offers easy access to the
school’s resources.
As a ‘Virtual Learning Environment’ (VLE), Learning Gateway simply breaks
down barriers of location and time to offer pupils and staff the ability
to communicate and interact as if they were sharing the same space.
Indeed web-based communication and collaboration via email, messaging, chatrooms,
bulletin boards, videoconferencing, web pages, presentations, written documents,
notes, is at the core of Learning Gateway.
But the next step is to have access to and share online workspaces, where
coursework, homework, reference materials and the like can be uploaded.
No longer can the dog eat the recalcitrant child’s homework!
There are ample opportunities for supporting pupils, with online discussions,
tutorials, background materials, revision resources and two-way interactions.

Management, the sharing of schedules, diaries, timetables, calendars, become
a matter of drag and drop and mouse clicks. As each child works digitally,
a mass of data collects as evidence of their activities.
Learning Gateway’s document management can include anything from filing
cabinets filled with folders through to complete individualised electronic
portfolios, complete with artwork, photographs and videos.

At the front end, the customisable look and feel envelopes web browser, email, instant messaging and all the tools and activities with which the “wired generation” is comfortable, which promote e-learning and facilitate teaching management.Each child has their own personalised learning environment, can create their own look and feel, which encourages the process of ownership. Each school also has its own customised space, which can match its philosophy and requirements now and into the future.
Community-wide features enable class updates, school news, and important files to be pushed to groups of students, teachers, or other users based on the role assigned to that user.

Class Server enables you to deliver content and assessments over the
web, collecting and exporting accurate, real-time pupil performance results
to create reports. You can incorporate published content offerings and assessment
packages, or create your own.
Microsoft® SQL Server manages the secure and stable sharing
of data.
Easy deployment of web sites
Adding to Learning Gateway’s integration with Microsoft® Office, Windows SharePoint Services enables easy deployment of web sites for individual classrooms or learning communities where students, teachers, parents, and administrators can share documents and publicise important events, resources, and tasks.
